About Me

Janet Wagner - Data Journalist and Technical Writer

My name is Janet Wagner and I'm a highly driven freelance technical writer and data journalist based in Toledo, Ohio.

I started my career as a front end developer for a large group of manufacturing companies in Northwest Ohio, later becoming a self-employed full stack developer.

At the end of 2014, I decided to focus on freelance technical writing full time. I have over 10 years of extensive web development experience which has proven to be a great asset when it comes to my writing career.

I've been a regular contributor to ProgrammableWeb, the world's leading source of news and information about APIs, since February 2012. I cover breaking news, in-depth analysis, and product reviews.

I've also written a few e-books for AlchemyAPI, an IBM company, that aims to democratize breakthroughs in deep learning-based artificial intelligence. The e-books focus on unstructured data and deep learning.

I'm experienced in writing well-researched, in-depth articles, blog posts, e-books, and other types of online content. I've written articles about APIs, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, GIS, maps, and many other technologies.

I'm also capable of creating interactive data visualizations (charts, graphs, maps, etc.) using Google Charts, Chart.js, D3.js, jQuery/jQuery UI, and other JavaScript libraries.
