About Me

Janet Wagner - Technical Writer and Data Journalist

My name is Janet Wagner and I'm a highly driven freelance technical writer and data journalist based in Toledo, Ohio.

I started my career as a front end developer for a large group of manufacturing companies in Northwest Ohio, later becoming a self-employed full stack developer.

At the end of 2014, I decided to focus on freelance technical writing full time. I have over 10 years of extensive web development experience which has proven to be a great asset when it comes to my writing career.

I specialize in creating well-researched, in-depth content about advanced technologies including (but not limited to) machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, analytics, GIS/maps, APIs, and microservices.

I help businesses connect with customers by creating compelling, audience-focused content such as articles, blog posts, case studies, advertorials, e-books, and white papers.

I'm also capable of creating interactive data visualizations (charts, graphs, maps, etc.) using Google Charts, ECharts, Highcharts, D3.js, jQuery/jQuery UI, and other JavaScript libraries.

I've been a regular contributor to ProgrammableWeb, the world's leading source of news and information about APIs, since February 2012. I cover breaking news, in-depth analysis, and product reviews.

I've also created content for a number of technology companies including AlchemyAPI (an IBM company), SmartBear Software, and Sentient Technologies.
